If your local dealer is not receptive to helping you find the car you want, start reaching out to other dealers. You can either make a deal with a dealer who has the car you want, or work with a closer dealer who works to get you that car (a lot of the dealers will trade cars to get a customer-specific car). There are quite a few great Genesis dealers to work with and then there seem to be a few who don't care if they sell any Genesis cars. Find someone you can work with.

+1. My local dealer was willing to look within a 500 mile radius, but I could tell they wanted to find the thing I'd like within 250 miles in order to make a dealer trade more feasible. If you find something 500+ miles away, just work with that dealer through phone and e-mail and have them ship you the car. Shipping should be $800 or less.

My advice would be to reach out to more dealers in your area and see if they can get you the car you want. It's possible that some dealers may be willing to go through the process of locating and shipping a car for a single sale. It's also possible that they are trying to unload their remaining inventory. You can ask the dealers if they have any 2020 models that come close to your desired specs. If you're pressed for time, you can also look into online car buying services. These services can help you find the car you want and manage the negotiation process on your behalf. I did so to get one and also used door to door vehicle shipping to get it the next day home.
