If you were to do it again, would you guys buy a leftover (may be a retired demo/loaner) 2019s with a huge savings?
Or spend a little more and get a brand new 2020?

If the saving are $1-2 grand go with new. If it is $5 grand for brand new to $10 grand+ for a demo, the 2019 would suit me. Not a lot of difference in style or features to pay much more for.

I agree with EdP. The difference I paid last week was about $2800. Good luck if you're looking for a black or gray Sport.

I was going to get Circle A pricing either way, and I really wanted the power trunk and a low mileage car. Drove off the lot with a car that was PDI'd the same day and had 23 miles on the odometer. Wouldn't have done it any other way.

It also depends on the Dealers motivation to move cars. I got a 2020 for a few hundred less than a couple 2019 quotes. All within a month. I had to go a few states over to get it but it was well worth it. Worked out even better since I like the wheels and brown interior of the 2020 more.

Don’t remember exact final number but it was 47091 plus NJ tax. Got the elite, awd, 3.3t
Dealers down here had very little inventory and didn’t want to let go of what they had.

Smart, if color is not an issue. I had similar problem with G80. I went 2020, but other colors would get a better price.

Year over year, the G80 seems to drop a few thousand in value each year - except for the first 1-2 years where they drop enough to make us sick.

The G70 is too new to have data, but it'll likely be similar to the G80.

But point being, if you're going to keep the car for 5-10 years, in year 2025, a 2019 will only be worth a few thousand $$ less than a 2020, so if you can save $5-$10k today by getting a '19 and the features are basically the same - that has future value.

Agreed, but that's a long time to drive a car in a color you don't like just to save $.
