  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This has been going on for about a week. When I approached the vehicle the mirrors did not open and pressing the door button did not unlock the doors. I used the mobile app to unlock the doors and the car did not recognize a fob in the car. It told me to press the fob against the start button to start the car. I replaced the fob battery when I got home and it is still happening. I even tried another battery. The crazy thing is does not always happen, some trips are totally fine. Sometimes it works when I leave and does not work after I have parked the car and vice versa. It is happening to both fobs. Has anyone else encountered this? I have searched here but cannot find any similar issues?

Maybe try a reset, I had to do this on my Mercedes a few times over the years…

Open the car then place both keys out of range along with phone app also off. This allows modules to go into a sleep mode Disconnect the main battery for around 5 minutes then reconnect. All your settings will be lost….I am just trying to give you somethIng to try out. You could also try and fiq out which module the system uses and replace fuse? hope you solve the issue.

Good luck

Did you check the voltage of the replacement batteries? I have found some brand new ones that are fairly weak right out of the blister pack. Quite often some of these can sit on warehouse shelves for many years before being sold and shipped.

I second this suggestion. I've ran into issues with weak batteries right out of the package before as well.

I had similar issues with mine but they were resolved with new fob batteries.
