  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought my G70 in October of 2020 and have been having the following issues so far. I am going to speak to the dealer but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced these issues or has thoughts on what is causing them.

Proximity Sensor:
starts beeping at random when I am stopped at lights from time to time. When it happens, I have noticed that the sensor will start beeping and indicate that something is identified near the front of the car, but after about 5 seconds, it stops and returns to normal.

CarPlay Connectivity and Speakers: Upon connecting my iPhone to CarPlay, the sound that comes through the speakers is often warbly and staticy and can only return to normal if I unplug and replug my iPhone in. The cable I am using is an Apple genuine cable that came directly from the Apple store and not a 3rd-party retailer. The infotainment screen also sometimes will turn blank at random when my phone is plugged in. I note that sometimes I will experience my sounds becoming warmly (from radio or CarPlay) simply after shifting into Reverse.

Engine: the engine cranks every once in a while, but does not seem to do so consistently in the same conditions.

Battery: I found that my car was completely dead in the garage a week ago but I do not know what caused the battery to drain. I drove my car last Thursday evening, did not drive it on Friday, and then found it dead on Saturday. I have previously left it for many more days without driving with no problem. What's interesting to me is that when I exited the car Thursday evening after parking, there was no reminder chime indicating that some light or electronic connection was still on. I also got no notification from my Genesis Connected Services app that anything was still on and that the battery was at risk of draining--shouldn't this be something the app notifies me about, just like it does if the alarm goes off? I'm not really sure what can be done here, but this just adds to my list of worries about this vehicle with the various issues I have been having.

Blind Spot Monitor: My left blind spot monitor is illuminating when there is nothing in the blind spot. This started happening about a week ago and happens about once every other day or so.

Definitely had the proximity sensor issue. So weird sometimes it will do it for the whole ride (when stopped and another car in front). So annoying. Also sometimes when starting the engine, it will have trouble actually turning on (in very normal weather/conditions) like it's actually trying and then it turns on.. Weird. Only get that very occasionally.

I experience the proximity sensor and CarPlay issues about once a week. I have a 2020 as well and have the software update prior to the latest.
