If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I hit a blown tire on the highway :(

There were many cars on the road and the car in front of me dodged it the last second, I had vehicles on my left and right and the person behind me was tailgating me, I had to drive over it.

I took the first exit to inspect the damage, it broke the front bumper right in the center at the bottom, the shield at the bottom was damaged as well, I didn't see any other damage any where else so far.

I'm thinking I need to replace the whole bumper, some pieces were missing from the front.

Any idea how much it will cost to replace the bumper?

Sorry I haven't taken any pics yet.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm referring to the part at the front bottom under the grill, I'm not sure if it's called the skirt or the bumper but it's just the bottom part where it's vented.

Oh man; I feel your pain. A truck tire blew up in front of me the other day, like maybe 10 car-lenghts ahead, as I was approaching to pass the truck. It was still quite loud, and I was able to dodge it (barely) by pulling into the shoulder. Later in the trip was also forced to pass over a piece, but fortunately no damage, as I hit the rubber upside down, rather than the steel cords. Anyway, a picture would produce better advice, but if the damage is connected to the bumper cover, then you'd have to replace it if you want it like new. However, with aftermarket paint, chipping is always much worse than with factory paint, so in cases like that, I'd consider fixing it if possible. But post a picture, if you want better advise. Good luck.
