  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone know the speaker sizes / mounting depths on the lexicon audio system for the 2022+ G70?

I am unable to lookup with Prodemand and cant find much info about. They have some shared speakers with on 2019 models but unsure about the size and locations for the high range. I'm assuming the doors have 6.5 lowers with a 3.5 squawker.

Once i get my g70, ill be able to have a writeup / breakdown on them. I plan on doing a more powerful midrange woofer upgrade with a Audiocontrol D6.1200 and possibly upgrade the squawkers.

Still planning on doing an audio upgrade in a couple of months. Mitchell finally has some wiring info on the lexicon sound system, which is attached!

Be interested to know how this comes out. Good luck!

A related question: Any idea how many 'speakers' (I know that word is not correct, but just like other manufacturers count them) does my '23 G70 SP has? It's the Lexicon system. I assume it should be at least 12, which is what my Santa Fe Calligraphy has, but curious about that. And it definitely sounds better than the HK on the SF Calli, which is nice. But not anywhere close to my brother's Meridian on his Land Rover Sport SVT.

There are 15 speakers for the G70 Lexicon that contain:

4x of the 6.5" Midwoofers located in each door
4x of the 1" Tweeters located in each door
5x of the 3" or 4" Midrange/squawker speakers; 2x in the front door, 2x in the rear deck, and the center channel in the dashboard.
2x Subwoofers under each seat (i believe are 8"?)

I notice the lexicon is a very stage focused system and doesnt have much fullness. I feel like the rear sound could use more help but I also know why they don't focus on that area since they want it to sound like your at a concert and the stage is your dashboard (like most new car premium sound systems). Typically i like it on the reference mode because it sounds more correct to me (im a audiophile ). It does pretty well tho in the midrange / high frequency range, just the lower frequencies (20 to 3.5k range) could use some improvement.

Thank you very much for that info; appreciate that. And yes, I also like the reference mode the best;), but also play with the other modes.

Does reference mode still exist? I see just the tone and position settings.
