I picked up these SeaSucker Monkey Bars, which are suction cups that fasten to your roof so you can put roof rack attachments on your car. I have an Inno pod, which is absolutely necessary for this car since the back seats don't fold down and the passthrough isn't wide enough for my snowboard. Snowboard is also too long to fit in the trunk diagonally.
The SeaSucker bars seem to get great reviews...the concern anybody would obviously have is them flying off while driving, but they just don't seem to do that. There are reviews galore out there and by all accounts this seems to be a safe and reliable way to fasten a pod.
The front bar has two cups on each side. I did mount one to the front glass (before the sunroof to hopefully not put too much stress on the sunroof) and the other to the sunroof. The back bar has one cup per side and I mounted that onto the glass roof just behind the sunroof.
I drove around a bunch and it seems very secure.
I did pull my sunroof fuse just so I don't accidentally try to open it with this gizmo on the roof...can't imagine that would end well.
Anyway, a good solution if you've been finding it difficult to source a roof rack for these cars.
