  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,

I'm a new member here. I have my 2022 on order in the Siberian Ice/Seville Red interior.
I would like to protect the vehicle as best I can, and have been referred by a friend to someone who does the protection films for some dealerships locally. He uses Expel vs. 3M

Is the Siberian Ice a matte finish, or gloss finish. I know there is no metallic. Input appreciated! Thanks all

I'm not sure if it's gloss or metallic as I haven't seen the color near me in awhile. But it is definitely not matte. Hope that helps. Congrats on the car. That combo will look great.

Thank you! Yes, even though I'm 67 I am excited. LOL

The Siberian Ice I have seen is not matte. It is not metal flake which makes it look less reflective than other colors and paints that have the metallic addition in the formula. The distinctive look of Ice is that it is a (somewhat) flat white color that has some depth and at certain angles shifts to a slightly light blue color as fine porcelain china. Fine china is a good comparison for Siberian Ice when I examined it at the dealer. It is a different look than most contemporary colors. As with all color choices it works for some and not others.

SI is not matte. It’s not metallic…more flat.

Think primer (not putty).

So it’s still shiny…but no metal flacks.

Wicked color.

Full sun…white. Dusk…blue. Approaching dark…green/gray.

I'd like to thank all of you for your input. This forum is much more respectful that I have been on over the years on different vehicles. That has run the gamut from Merc C63, Bmw 330i, and now (I can hardly wait) G70.

Almost got a woody! ⭕

I have a siberian ice and it's beautiful. It's a high-gloss finish, with a flat blue-ish grey/white colour (no metal flake).

Regarding the protection film, there's a guy on youtube that's been doing a long-term test on a bunch of films. XPEL Ultimate+ performs very well as long as you don't mind a bit of "orange peel" to the finish.
