  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Genesis G90

Not a fan of the fastback rear and dip in the rear door windows, but it definitely looks a lot better than the Mercedes EQS. If they come out with an EV version, it'll be on top of my "want" list. V8 seems pointless if EV variant is real. EV > V8 > V6, IMO.
Exactly. What Genesis needs is to continue to delve into and resolve the EV problems, while exploiting its advantages. To me, that means more battery range, faster charging, seamless peripheral support (phone), while also making a quieter vehicle with a softer, plusher ride with incredibly intuitive and easy controls, and more features for less $$$.

I still hope the X concept can be a reality some day, for those that for some reason need to go "fast". But engine noise? Please. That's so 1980s.

Genesis is definitely going to make an EV version of the G90 like they did the G80, but you all better be prepared to pay over $100K+ for it.

I get no joy out of driving an EV... yeah, they're quick but they're no fun. Even my G90 feels really numb but the engine noise gives me just enough to keep me interested. Like I said in another thread, when it's time to trade in the V8 for an EV, they better be capable of fully driving itself because I have no interest in driving it.

Cars have been slowly losing that direct connection to the driver feel for a long time... Drive by wire = delay, power steering = delay and numb steering, etc... If cars are heading in that direction, I'd rather just be a passenger and relax.

Yes, I do very much understand that not everyone wants a V8 and I understand that the V8 is a dying breed. But come on. They’re only going to offer a V6 on this extremely expensive flagship sedan? How on earth is it going to compete with Audi, BMW, or Mercedes in the power department? I currently have a 2021 G90 5.0 AWD. I previously had a 2018 G90 5.0 AWD. It’s proper for the G90 to offer a V6 and V8, just like every other flagship luxury sedan. If all Genesis is going to offer is one V6 for the 2023 G90, I’ll be switching to a different brand altogether, which makes me sad.
I agree with you, switch to another brand!

They've stopped taking orders for the 2022 G90, so if you want to get one you'll have to pick from what's available on dealer lots.
They're still producing them for a bit more time, and shipping them from Korea takes time as well, so the dealers will still be receiving more inventory of 2022s over the next few months. But no new orders.

Having driven the V6 and V8 back to back... there's definitely a difference between the two but it's pretty minor. Lots of people making mountains out of molehills in this thread. And if they bring the e-supercharger to the US/Canadian models then it'll be a great powertrain.

Ninja 400, Thanks for the update I did not know that. But I did notice that a dealer in Atlanta had 2 of them on auto trader. But within three days they were both sold. Makes sense now.

According to the Korean Genesis website, the new G90 already started selling in Korea as of December 17... unclear if that refers to them taking orders or if the factory is already pumping out the new G90s.

It's going to be a while until they bring it over to the USA, but it's only a matter of time before they stop making the 22s. My order for a 22 made it in just before the deadline, that was about a month and a half ago.

Autotrader still shows ~350 of the 2021/2022 G90s left in the USA, so there's plenty of time left to get one of those.

"Reserved" a '23 Genesis G90 last month with 2 separate dealers here in N.E. Ohio. I'm excited for sure. My dad currently has a '21 Genesis G80 2.5T Prestige AWD and previously had a Gulf Spec 2012 Hyundai Genesis. I'm currently running a LR Defender 90 S and wondering if this G90 will replace my D90.

LWB (possibly available here in the U.S.) pictured below:

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The angle those thumbnails are taken kinda make it look like a CUV or a wagon. A G90 wagon would be great!

I didn't love the interior shapes originally but they're starting to grow on me. I find that they went for a more minimalistic look but it still looks nice, and the materials look good all over. I especially like that they added back the foot* rest in the back. That's one thing the Equus had that I wish my car had. I find that it looks good and has some subtle features without throwing screens all over the place

The current '17-'22 has had the foot rest available in Korea on the long wheelbase model. As well as the VIP seating package (4 seater) even on the short wheelbase model G90.

Genesis just doesn't bring the super high end stuff to the US market. Like the semi-aniline leather - not having that one is a real tragedy.

In Korea you can even get the VIP rear seat package and rear seat entertainment system on the G80.

Most brands also have their Candian market cars equipped to a higher spec than their US market cars... I'm not sure whether Genesis does this, I think I may have heard about one or two features like that but can't really remember.

Not sure whether they'll bring the footreset and leather to the US market for this new gen. I guess we'll have to wait until they do the North American launch and then find out.

They do on their crossovers. The GV80 for instance gets a third row with the Prestige package, and the GV70 offers quilted leather in the Prestige trim rather than the cheaper suede seats we get here. Sedans are more or less identical in the top trim in both markets though.

Sometimes we do get things that aren't in the South Korean market though, for example the prior-gen V8 G80 was not available in South Korea.

I can't speak for other models but my 2015 Genesis had a heated wheel but didn't have the rear shade. Bluelink wasn't available either. My 2020 G90, I don't think the rear screens were available in Canada? I couldn't find it anywhere on the website but I saw one demo car with the rear screens. I think that may have been a US car that somehow made it up here.

That's weird about the 2015, my 2012 had the powered rear sunshade. My G90 didn't have rear screens as an option in Canada, that I know if. Even if it did, I read that they didn't have a separate input and audio output so you might as well just use your own tablet
