  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Genesis G90

It wasn't mentioned before, but the U.S. site has a very basic configurator set up for the new G90 which also lists the features. No option packages or a-la-carte options whatsoever, whatever engine you pick will give you the same features as everyone else, i.e. air suspension and power rear seats only come with the mild hybrid powertrain. I'm sure some people will cry about this lol

It's nice to see that HDA II is standard here when it's disappeared from the rest of the U.S. Genesis lineup.

Very clever - no pricing.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Had my name on one at a dealer since December, just spoke to Genesis Corporate and my dealer and decided to go with Priority one (opened on Friday, reserved today). Dealer thinks its a way to speed up getting delivery of one even though they have a separate reservation process, so manager told me it wouldn't hurt. Very familiar with reservations and ordering so I had no problem doing so. Corporate made it seem as though I get to pick one from the ones allocated to the dealer, in line that is. However, the Dealer made it seem as though it's more like a priority list for a custom order, regardless we shall see. Decided to go with Supercharger AWD model with Maui Black (a color I've been waiting for since I saw it in Korea) (My Choice), and Bordeaux Brown (Reddish Wine Brown Color) for the interior (Dad's Choice). This would be my third MHEV vehicle (used Ram's eTorque, and Audi's MHEV system) and will also be using an MHEV system in my Defender 130 order on the P400 engine. It's great tech and requires nothing on my part.

Ah, very interesting, regarding how Corporate vs dealer understood Priority One. Thanks for the info.

I don't quite understand why it would be picking one allocated to the dealer if they made us pick the color and trim already _then_ asked for a preferred dealer. But if it is, then I may need to change my "preferred dealer" to the highest volume one that I'm willing to go to in an attempt to increase the chances of allocation.

If it's the latter and it's basically a custom order, that would be much more convenient and true to what they seem to be aiming for with "Priority One" service.

We're supposed to get an agent who will call from Corporate and "guide us through the process", so I'll ask whoever I get on my end how it works and will update here with what they say.

I don’t believe there is any such thing as a custom order with Genesis. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Also not mentioned on the list, but the supercharged model gets nicer wood trim if you look at the configurator.

Also the Audio is different, the standard gets the Premium B&O while the Supercharged MHEV model gets the better 3D B&O.

Wonder if the Supercharged gets rear screens. Also wonder if they’ll be more customization for wood or wheels like in Korea, or if that is strickly dependent on model. I doubt it.

Deal breaker for me though is Air Suspension and All-Wheel Steering. That’s a must for this car so definitely glad I went with the Supercharged MHEV. I do like how they made it simple like that though in that respect; don’t want it, then go the standard model. In Korea, you can customize that as well though.

Well I wonder if it's gonna be less than $100K!

I fully expect the supercharged version to be over $100K. No way Genesis is going to underprice themselves against the vastly inferior LS500.
Yeah that’s just not gonna happen. That would make 0 sense. Genesis understands it’s place and it would just kick itself out of the market if it was almost the price of a 7 Series or S Class. The ‘22 Audi A8 starts at $86,500, so why on earth would Genesis top out at over $100k. Go review the Korean Spec models and compare pricing.

$100K is nowhere near the price of a well-equipped 7 Series or S-Class. A base RWD 740i already starts at $93K. An S500 starts at $111K. An LS500, supposedly the least prestigious car after the G90, can be optioned near $120K. Genesis may be a new brand, but compare the price of the G80/GV80 and their other new vehicles to the equivalent Germans, and they aren't Hyundai Equus levels of cheap anymore.

The Korean spec model isn't cheap either. The LWB version that uses the supercharged V6 starts at 167,000,000KRW, or roughly $128,000 USD. If anything, you better hope that Genesis doesn't price the G90 anything like its Korean counterpart.

The LWB is specifically for diplomats, ambassadors, and gov't officials (it's essentially gonna be a unicorn in Korea).

Watch AP's video on it, the direct conversion for the non-LWB version (the version we will be getting) is $74K USD conversion (see at 24 seconds)

As for the 7 Series and S Class, different league of its own, and the LS has had presence for quite some time.

You'll see next month what I'm talking about. I anticipate the standard model to be about $78-81k and the MHEV to be $83-89k. Certainly no more than $95k for range topping spec.

The base model RWD version of the standard non-supercharged 3.5T sold in South Korea starts at~$70K USD. Add some packages to it and see how high prices can go. Playing around on the configurator I'm already at ~$95K for just that non-supercharged version.

$78K is an extremely optimistic number considering a loaded G80 is already $72K. But yes, I agree there's no point in bickering about something we don't have the official prices for yet.

Your price assumption is way too optimistic. 22 Ultimate is $81K

Korea has options galore, in the US, ours will be all standard. Look at the last gen Korean spec, they had tons of options to pick, we didn't.

You have to pay for those options. Genesis isn't going to sell a car here fully loaded for the price of their stripper base model in South Korea.

The last-gen G90 was substantially cheaper too in South Korea.

Yeah I'm thinking...

Standard Model: $78-81k

MHEV Supercharged Model: $83-89k
