  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2023 Genesis G90

You have to pay for those options. Genesis isn't going to sell a car here fully loaded for the price of their stripper base model in South Korea.

The last-gen G90 was substantially cheaper too in South Korea.
G90 also sells a lot more in Korea, roughly 5x more in recent years compared to the U.S.; that influences price.

Disagree, that's the price range for 22. We shall see.
2022 Numbers:

3.3T RWD - $74,950
3.3T AWD - $77,450
5.0 RWD - $78,700
5.0 AWD - $81,200

The '23 Std Model will be just a tad more than the '22 3.3T AWD model, and the '23 Supercharged MHEV will be a bit more than the '22 5.0 AWD, but not $15k-20k more, that's absurd. The major change in price will be due to the Air Suspension and All Wheel Steering but all the new standard options won't show much of a price change with inflation; plus Genesis wants to keep the high value, low production factor; so that's where I'm getting my numbers from.

I don't know what to tell you. The last G90 3.3T in South Korea started at 82 million won, or $63,0000 USD. The same car U.S. version starts at $75K for the same engine. You are paying more for the packages added, they don't come free.

To give you an idea of how much Genesis hiked their US prices, compare a loaded 2019 G80 Sport to the same model in 2022. $60K vs. $72K. And the outgoing G90 is based on the last-gen platform that underpinned the 2019 G80.

A total redesign is not free. A consumer has to pay for all of that.

I just can't see that happening here, could be wrong but it would be very odd.

Exactly, even applies to brands beyond Genesis. A 2022 BMW 740i started at $87K, now the 2023 redesign starts at $93K.

Like you said, we shall see. A $90-100k Genesis will be mean the death of the car for sure.
People said the same thing about the G90's price hike after the Hyundai Equus...

Out of curiosity how many of you even have your name down on one, signed up for Priority One, or are even looking to purchase/lease a '23?
Would you still buy it if it ends up going past your estimated price range? I'm not trying to be antagonistic here, simply being realistic with the price. You should have seen how many people here threw fits and ragequit when the GV80's price came out higher than they all expected.

Well in the case of the Equus, you were going from a Hyundai to a Luxury automaker, so the name means something.

And I think so, yeah. Unless it was super expensive, I dunno.

Not me. I'm not fond of the new interior.

I have signed up for priority one and made the $1000 deposit. I am curious about the pricing as the cap for me will be about 95k and I'm not settling for less than all the features, so I will need the e-supercharger edition to get them it seems.

Signed up for Priority One and made the $1000 deposit. Eagerly awaiting pricing at this point. My cap will be about $95k. I do need/want all the features, so I would be locked into the more expensive trim.

Having said that I don't need this car, so I can wait if initial pricing is less than favorable.

Yeah you 2 are the only people I'm aware of who are planning to get one other than myself, be nice to compare specs and experience soon.

Glad we signed up for Priority One, as of today August 1st, it’s now closed for the ‘23 G90 as far as I can tell. Which I would think means it is indeed arriving at dealers this month. Hopefully pricing announced very soon too.

Edit: Found out it is actually still open, for now, disregard this post.
