  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys, new here, has anyone experienced the painting fade out on the body? Especially the gas cap. As in picture below.
I looked back into a video my wife took at day one, it already showing some color differ1000013471.webpence. It just get worse. I bought it from Markham dealer, Ontario, Canada. Complained to service manager, and was offered a repaint under warranty. I appreciated that. However after this was done, not seeing much improvement. Shall I keep bothering the dealer? Thanks

Paint color will always differ from plastic to metal panels. Has on every auto I've had. Some colors and locations are more noticeable than others.

A valet brought me a white 2026 GV70 today while they're working on mine for a few days. It has the same very obvious off-coloring on the gas filler door as yours, and this one only has 3300 miles on it, so it's not faded. It's the way it was manufactured.

Thanks for sharing, that's too bad for a new vehicle, just bad luck I guess for some buyers

Thank you, I may go to local body shop for help, but still hoping this issue was not there

You're welcome. Note that there's nothing that can be done about this. I believe it has something to do with the flex additive added to the paint for nonmetallic surfaces. My worst experience with this was on a red Camaro SS. The front and back bumper covers were a very noticeable, different shade of red. I had the dealer and 3 different, independent body shops look at it and all told me the same thing: not much you can do.

that's definitely much more obvious than mine, wondering how people can stand that in real life. my neighbor made fun of it
