25 Used Base Models For Sale

Hi all,

Just noticed this in our local paper. These guys have 25 used Genesis for sale. After a quick review, looks like all 2012-2013 base models, most with the UNAV upgrade - very surprising to see as I've only seen 1 with that upgrade otherwise. My guess is that they are all former rentals.

I've looked at a couple of non-Genesis cars from these guys before and the one's I looked at had some paintwork, so buyer beware, but thought some might be interested. That said, the dealership seemed professional and courteous.

They are located in South Atlanta.

Most of these are not base Genesis cars, Bells, they are Premium Package models equipped with backup cameras, touch screen Nav, etc.

Look at the wheels and also note that the video screen is not the premium pkg screen nor are screenshots of the Hyundai GUI. As I mentioned in my original post, they all seem to have the uninav aftermarket option which explains the larger screen and backup camera without the dis knob, etc., etc.

They also have the plastic dash front, instead of leather. Definitely Base Trim.

Yes, then maybe they are a special edition base model for rental fleets. That is not a Premium package touchscreen. The Premium package back-up camera needs no DIS, by the way.

I am not crazy about previous rentals. Too many vehicles have been thrashed and many rental companies repair their own crashes and don't report the damage, however; if you can get it for the right price and get an accurate history, might be a fair daily driver.

They all have the same UNAVI Navigation System that I installed in mine, you can see the startup screen does say UNAVI. The give-a-way is they all have the wood dash vs. Leather Dash, what I do find strange is that some have a sun roof, and when I was looking for mine all the base models that I saw did not come with a sun roof. I wonder if these that have the sun roof if its a after market sunroof as well?

The dealer name, of the same family that was supposed to have gone to jail over the chaos on modified Vipers a few years ago?

PMCErnie, yes, no dis know in premium, but that screen is certainly not from a premium pkg as it more closely resembles a tech pkg, which does have the dis knob, therefore we can conclude that it is neither of those. And sense there are only the two pkgs in 2012+, it must be aftermarket UNAV.

DRS, I have no idea, but they have been a respected Atlanta-based car dealer for a long time, however with the consolidation that has gone on in the car business, I don't know if they are still locally owned at this point. If they had been related to something as you question, I think I would have heard about it as a local 'car guy'.

Giant Robo, I think after market on the sunroofs. Came across one in my recent car search. I like the aftermarket unav, but I would run from an aftermarket sunroof - in fact I did.

Anyone looking for a base model, with this amount of inventory you might have some good negotiating room.
