  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good morning Everyone,

This morning my tire pressure light was on and my back tire was blinking (26 psi). What is the normal tire pressure for 2015 Genesis? Thanks

Depends on what engine and drive train. The recommended tire pressure is on a sticker in the drivers door jamb. I would consider adding 2 PSI over the recommended pressure. Tire pressure should be measured as cold, which means when the car has not been driven for at least 4 hours. If the tires are warm or hot, then add about 3 PSI to the recommended numbers. Tires heat up quickly because the rapid flexing of the steel (or other) belted tread when the car is moving.

I would not expect air loss this time of year. If you check air at each gas fill dropping to 26 from expected 33 is a lot.

If one checks their tire PSI at time of gas fill, the tires will be hot (assuming one drove to the gas station), and should be filled with a few PSI higher than the recommended PSI to account for the fact that one is not measuring cold tire pressure.

Note that the 2015 5.0 Ultimate (maybe 5.0 Base also) has different sized tires front and rear, and has different PSI recommendations than other Genesis models, so ALWAYS consult the owners manual or sticker in drivers side door jamb.

Tire pressure loss almost always occurs over time (hopefully only slowly), and of course tires could leak more quickly for other reasons (damage to tire or rim, etc). The OP did not say when he last checked his tire pressure.

Might wish to look for a nail!😜

26 PSI is not unusual if someone hasn't checked their tire pressure in 6 months or more.
