  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK, 2019 G70, had the screen replaced Dec 2023 under warranty (had 6 mos remaining of bumper to bumper). Just 1 year and 2 freaking weeks later my new screen is starting to delaminate. Two weeks after the 1 year replacement warranty! Ridiculous. And I only put maybe 4k miles the past year.

My dealer has been good to me w/ all the problems my car has had, never giving me grief and willing to do all warranty work, but of course corporate denied this warranty. The dealer said they're going to try to see if they can do something to help, but it's 2 weeks now and the receptionist keeps saying the advisor is busy and leaves a message. I'd just stop in but it's 30 miles away.

This car is great in so many ways but I've had to take the car in at least 12 times in 18 months for stupid things. Door insulation, wire sticking out of the passenger seat leather, fading and falling off exterior trim, severe HVAC rattles, infamous sunroof rattle and many more stupid little things. Even worse, it got hail damage while they kept my car for 1 month because the techs kept screwing up the sunroof replacement. We had no hail where up north where I live, so if the tech didn't screw up then it wouldn't have gotten damage. So I'm out thousands of dollars thanks to that and it took 3 more visits to get it all fixed as there would be bolts rattling around the headliner.

I don't know. When the car is right it's so great but I'm getting so fed up. And thanks to the hail damage, even if I did want to sell I'd take an enormous hit. This car has easily had the worst quality control of any car I've owned and the service techs are shite.

Damn that's too bad man I feel ya. I have the 2019 G70 too. Already replaced the display for delamination, hoping it doesn't come back.

I have other little things too that are annoying, now the driver mirror doesn't automatically unfold if the car is turned off. But if I remote started it and the car is still on itll unfold fine. Only an issue with the driver side one. And when it doesn't work, I just press the manual fold/unfold button in the car and there's no problem (after I turned on the car manually of course). Not sure that's a sign of what but the mirror to me appears to be working..

I have a steering wheel little noise too when it's warm and im driving slowly and turning. Like little cheap plasticky beads sound..

My steering wheel too! Except substitute beads with creaking, like an old door. Only happens w/ slow turns. And I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it.

steering wheel clockspring maybe.
search for "clockspring" for steering wheel noises when turned

Having worked in QC and Manufacturing for 42 years, it's not a QC issue - it's poor design and/or shotty materials used. QC simply checks to see that the parts meet spec, which is up to the folks that designed the car.

I suspect high temp is a likely a big contributor to these screen delaminations. That infotainment screen sit on top of the dash right under the windshield and will get cooked good, especially here in the brutally hot Texas Summers. We had a screen delamination on a '19 Mazda CX-9 that was barely 1-1/2yrs old when we got it new-to-us. Thankfully, it was covered under warranty. That made me even more religious about putting up the sun shade every time we park our cars. We have shades for every vehicle. In some I deploy more than one shade for even better heat blocking. Heck, I'm so used to it we even do it in the Winter month... even though we are about to be hit with a polar vortex. Overkill... probably.

Call it QC/QA or defect or bad design, or whatever you want. I'd rather do a bit of preventative work than to count on any of my cars' LCD screens being made tough enough to survive being repeatedly baked in the sun.

Exactly. Pretty much that. Dealership checked it and replaced the clock spring twice or something and it's still there..
