I know a lot of members on here are always looking for performance parts. Us Gen1 guys, whether 3.8 or 5.0, are limited to pretty much an intake and cat back exhaust for power mods. And then its pretty much one brand and thats it.. Well I Found some something pretty cool!!
So check it out i found a whole forward (engine to secondary cats) section exhaust system for us 3.8 GDI genny owners!! And its cheap as F! This eliminates all the cats and you get headers. Downpipes with flex joints and secondary cat delete test pipes. Everything is bolted together via flanges with gaskets.. No slip fit anything.
Most hate to hear it and will argue away but cat-back exhaust systems barely yield any HP gains.. unless its a heavily modded turbo or FI car, you are paying all that money for about 5hp if your lucky, weight reduction, SS longevity, looks but mainly you are paying for the sound. I know its gonna hurt a lot of feelings cause most paid $1k+ usually for a good exhaust system but, just research actual before and after Dyno results. Not the advertisement from borla magnaflow!! Lol, im talking real world dyno results be it magazine tests or just guys online... it hurt my feelings too..
But now!! You can spend $750, grt the largest HP gain pretty much possible for our cars besides strapping nitrous to it, its going to sound amazing even with the factory cat-back but, you dekete all the cats so it super illegal if you have emissions tests where you live, and it will guaranteed throw CEL lights for a S ton of OBD faults.
The only way to correct that and get it to go away would be to find a tuner that can turn off the rear 02’s if hes somehow deciphered Hyundai’s locks, and also actually tune the fuel maps and...well.....basically just do a full tune on the car because this modification will lean out the car big time. Heres the link and a pic.. Sorry 5.0 guys..
