  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

3.8 owners

Yeah I wont hold my breath either, but I'm hearing tuners can squeeze a lot of extra power out of these motors
Well I'm heavily leaning toward a V6 Genesis Sedan so I sure hope you're right.

I'm still waiting for a CAI to be produced. I wont do anything until I at least install that.

I may go custom eventually

Nevermind, found them through google. It looks like only the Coupe 3.8 GDI is available. I just asked them if it's the same for the sedan 3.8 GDI.

:confused:I just bought a used 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan with 29K miles. I discovered the car has a camera however, when I place the car in reverse, this function does not work on the radio or the dash board. Anyone have this problem? Before I go to the dealer?

2009 through 2014 are first generation.

2015 starts the second generation.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
My 2012 3.8 Genesis came with 17's wheels and tires, can anyone tell me if I can upgrade to 18's on wheel and tires with out compromising fuel economy too much?

Mine came with 18s. I guess you'd have to talk to somebody that had actually done the upgrade.

27-29 Highway. In NC, I was getting 18-20 City. In Jacksonville, FL, not so good, because of the heavy rush-hour, stop and go traffic, and all the stop-lights. It's been closer to 15-16 here.

Thanks, not bad, I'm in Lake Worth Florida, have occasional traffic like when it rains, Floridians can't drive in the rain, thank God it doesn't snow, LOL! So when I get a chance to buy some good looking wheels, I'll change over to 18's.

There probably is a very slight penalty for the 18" wheels on the Premium and Technology Packages due to wider tread on the lower aspect tires (the total diameter of both are the same, regardless of wheel size, if you get the OEM tire sizes).

However, since the EPA rating is the same (regardless of Trim level), the difference is very small.

Pardon my ignorance but who is BTR and how do I get in touch with them?

Blood Type Racing http://www.bloodtyperacing.com/

Tailwalker has been dealing with Sam over there to get tunes for the sedans rolling. They have built many high HP Hyundai's over the years.

They are hosting a tuning event in Raleigh April 16th-17th at RPM Motorsports

Has anyone ordered the new CPU's from BTR? I am considering it, but cannot find any feedback on it. I currently have a 2012 3.8 with a few bolt ons.

I received my tune last monday and LOVE it. Definitely a big change. Just spins a lOT more on lower rolls. Took about 15-20mins to swap out the old ecu and install the new would. I have full custom exhaust with both Cats deleted. Get about 29.7 hwy and 19.3 city. That's with lots and lots of hard accelerations ;)

Thanks Swammee! I am definitely considering it. I have an Injen Intake and a Magnaflow CB Exhaust along with a few other things. I think this BTR Tune will hopefully be the ticket I am looking for. I just wish it were not so expensive. I guess considering you're getting a new computer with the tune it's not so bad.
