3.8 track won't start

This is the 2nd time in the past month my car would not start. The key works fine I guess...locks and unlocks the doors, but when I try turning it on I get the immobilized icon. Also the start button works fine as far as turning on the ac. I've tried putting the key fob in slot inside the car and still nothing. The only thing I noticed like before is that I can't push the brake all the way down and I'm wondering if that the problem, but it's been like that before and the car started up fine. So could it be the key fob or what?

Also my driveway is on a slight incline and I've noticed that the car rolls back when put in park. When it rolls back it sounds like something is banging together. Could that be causing my brake problem which causes my car not to start?

I had the same problem a couple of moths ago. All that needed to be done was to replace the battery in the fob. I found that out after having it towed to Hyundai and losing the use of the car for two days over a long weekend. Your problem sounds exactly the same. Hope this helps.

Just noticed this in the older forum area. Maybe this is your issue, and probably mine if it ever happens again.

***My dealership was able to duplicate the problem. YEAH!!! The brake switch is the issue. It had an open internal circuit. The part number 93810-3K000 was replaced under warranty. I haven't had a problem since.***

Ok so my car started up after a few more trust, but I will still be taking it in tomorrow.

Yeap I have the same issue. The dealership has changed the battery, however the issue re-occured. They have to find the root cause since the problem is on-going...

Had the same problem on my 2010 Track. It is definitely the brake switch, they will replace under warranty. On the mean time just press the break, hold the start switch down for about 30-40 seconds and it will start right up. It a by pass that now one is suppose to know?????

Had the same problem on my 2011 Track and finally after 45 minutes of monkeying around with everything I could think of, I kicked the brake had enough for it to loosen up and start. I immediately took it into Hyundai and they replaced a faulty brake switch as well. Super scary that there is no work around (at least not what I have found) for this problem and that it could have left me stranded somewhere but thankfully this time it was at my apartment. I would urge any owner with the problem to get the switch checked out just in case. Hope you were able to find a similar resolution! *Also just read all of Richard's post above me and I am fairly certain I tried that work around to no avail but I'm sure it could work in some cases however I can attest to the fact that no one at the dealership or the 1800# I called were able to tell me any kind of trick to help.*

Not sure If you’re aware that if you continue holding the start button in for 10 seconds or more without the brake being depressed the car will start. In an emergency this might come in handy.

I have a 2013 hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 track and it won't start. Don't know what to do because everything comes on as in the dash and a/c just not the car. Any suggestions would help.

Whenever I had this issue it was not in park or it was a blown fuse.
