If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just been curious on three things to do with the exhaust on these cars, one is has anybody ever replaced the big resonator before the mufflers with an X pipe before and two is the stock pipe stainless steel or? Also, would headers from the gen coupe fit? I'm fairly certain the stock pipe is 2.25 in diameter but i could be wrong there but i'm just curious as i want a bit of growl from the car

pipes are 2" .. except at sime sections they are necked.

Sec cat delete on all stock exhaust is a simple & great performance gainer. Yet has no noticable effect of sound, may be a tid louder at high revs.

Rear mufflers swap to straight through ones .. gives a louder exhaust note, but has some cabine drone, with no serious gain un performance.

Stock mid pipe resonator is prrallel 2 x straight through 2" bore .. I don't think deleting will add any performance gain. while sure will change exhaust sound. (I kept it)

Mid pipe section has those marked bottle necks where pioe cross-section is reduced. Replcing these sections with 2" clearly felt enhanced performance (no measure data), even with stock resonator.

Thanks for the reply, so far i've done an xpipe in place of the stock res and removed the bottleneck at the same time which gave a lil bit of a difference in sound but isn't noticable inside, though where it made a noticable difference was it added some snaps and crackles when you rev it or when you let off after a pull.
So my next change is probs a set of straight through mufflers to replace the stock ones and maybe delete the 2nd set of cats if i still want more noise after that
