  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

30K service 1200$!?

This is a screen shot of the maintenance schedule in the G70 quick reference guide.
Yes. A lot of checking and not much replacement. I believe I can handle the filter changes on my own. The inspection and flushes/changes, ill leave to them but it does seem like the car requires little maintenance at this point.

I'd be surprised if they spent even an hour doing all these inspections. So maybe that's $120, oil change and air filter changes maybe another $200 for parts and labor, rotating the tires another $60 for labor. I think I'm being generous. The total should be no more than $400. Their price is crazy.
It reminds me of when I took my Maxima in to the dealer about 20 years ago to have a sensor replaced and the coolant flushed, because I didn't want to deal with it. They did a couple of other small things and tried to charge me $700!! Keep in mind that's $700 in 2003. I bitched and got them to reduce it to $350, which I thought was still too much.

Going back probably 10 years, I was sitting at the dealer while my car was being service. A woman came in and we started talking and she said she really like the car but it was expensive to have service.

The dealer had a list of recommended service to be done every X miles, far more than the manual. Of course, oil change, lube, but they added things like dust the hub caps and polish the dipstick.

She took my advice to check the manual and saved a lot of money.
I support what Ed says. What Ed says goes around here lol. Ed has great advice and I would take it
