  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys new here. Anyone tried to retro fit the the mirrors and cameras from a 2017 G80 to get the 360° or multi view on previous models? I have an ultimate so the system inside the car is the same but wanted inquire here before exploring this on my own. Thanks!

Sorry Danny, the 2017 didn't have the 360 degree view either. Only the 2018 model. The cost to retro fit is prohibitive also.

With enough time and money, you can do most anything. At a minimum, you need two mirror housings with cameras, a front camera, wiring harnesses, switches. Depending on how the cameras are activated, like to go from rear to front, you either need switches or a software update.
If you could get wiring diagrams for the 2018 with and without a comparison would be a big help to determine complexity.
Sounds expensive and time consuming, but if you can make a kit at reasonable price, it would be a nifty aftermarket upgrade. I can see it hitting $1k or so.

There are some after market solutions that range about $500-$700. Not counting the connection/interface to the head unit screen.

360° SURROUND VIEW CAMERA SYSTEM

Check amazon for 360 degree car camera also.

Even with the system you will need one of those gps bypass systems to interface the composite connections to the RGB connections on the head unit.

Thanks for the replies guys. I found that the 2nd gen for other countries has the camera system, just not the us version. They also have the rear entertainment system which would be really nice to have. Apparently the real ultimate package was reserved for Korean market lol. But I was thinking about trying to source the parts from over seas maybe? I read another thread where the front camera wiring is already in place behind the bumper and with the addition of soft close doors on the Korean models, I'm assuming to save costs, like many manufacturers they may have done the same for the mirrors instead of making multiple wiring harnesses? I would love this camera setup though and if I could source the rear monitors I could have this wired to a hidden dvd player for the kids. If anyone knows of good sites for sourcing kdm model parts owe let me know! Thanks for the help.

Another note, the Korean models with the rear entertainment system they also have cooled rear seats! The controls are located in the same place in the center armrest and looked like it deleted the cup holders so that may be a drop in part also? But who knows...
