  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

4.6 Transmission Flush Among Other Things

They now are recommending power steering fluid replacement. Anyone had that done? I declined.

I would check and see if Hyundai recommends a transmission flush. The manufacturer not the dealer. There is a difference between what the manufacturer says needs done and the dealer recommends to make more money.
Honda recommends against transmission flushes. I have had two Hondas with over 250,000 miles that never had the transmission oil changed . You can not even change the transmission filters on a lot of them now because it is buried inside , the transmission has to be disassembled to get to it.

I would like to know where you came across this information considering in many Honda vehicles that I have seen the severe service interval is 60,000 miles for Honda transmissions. It is published and in their owners manuals.

I don't have any information on Honda's, but maybe he is talking about newer ones that are designed to use synthetic fluid. I know that on the Genesis, it is somewhat difficult to change the fluid, and they seem to discourage people from doing it. Obviously, regardless of the auto manufacturer, that does not hold true for their older vehicles.
