  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Getting a new windshield tomorrow. [Second try, didn't have the LDW 1st time.]

Anything I should know, be concerned about?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
had mine replaced a few mos ago. aftermarket was 60% the price of OEM glass. i had no issues, except a kinda odd thing that the intermittent wipers seem to behave better (less hyper-sensitive) with the aftermarket glass. this is a "butt-dyno" thing; no empirical data ...

suggest a nice 70 mph jaunt post-install, listening very carefully for wind noise and new interior squeakage.

When I saw the price of the LDWS windshield, I couldn't believe it. Hopefully all works well for you.

Price is no object........:D

(In Florida, insurance pays with NO deductible.)

if i recollect, aftermarket glass was ~700, hyundai glass was ~1100.

($100 deductible here - gloating is poor form. :p)

Yeah, I have a $50 here. Glad that I do.

^Nice to have the coverage, eh? I pay like $2/month for full glass coverage with no deductible. I couldn't imagine not having this coverage. Windshields are cheap on modern cars such as the Genesis. When I used to live in a different part of the cities I traveled the interstate daily and I would go through 2-3 windshields a year in my Elantra:eek: Cost = $0

holy crap. that's my number for over 40 yrs (and i'm a high miler). you guys must drive mean. :)

+1 - I have replaced zero windshields in 54 years of driving. Your environment must be pretty nasty

Works done, LDW and rain senors working fine. List on WS was $875,00. With insurance discount, parts and labor, bill about $675.00 to be paid by insurance.

Here's the glass id:

Interesting. I had my windshield replaced last fall, and the repair place initially was saying State Farm would not replace with a OEM windshield. However, after checking into which windshields would be compatible with my automatic windshield wiper sensor and whatever that other one is, they said the only windshield available was the OEM. So, State Farm agreed to the OEM windshield. I was concerned about increased wind noise, but I have not noticed any. However, the replacement windshield seems to be much more wavy than the original one.
