4.6 Wing Wheel Caps

Above is the picture of my wheels. I cannot seem to find a genesis wing wheel cap set that will fit my 18" 4.6 wheels. The only ones I can find have just the round center cap itself, not the whole piece that covers the bolts too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is no V8 Genesis cap since this wheel isn't offered in Korea. People fabricate it by removing the center emblem from the Korean V6 wheel cap and installing it in the U.S. V8 wheel cap. Found a few with a quick search. Have no idea about the first company and the Ebay price seems a bit high...but since the company needs to fabricate these with two caps maybe it isn't too crazy. The dealer charges way more. If I recall, I paid $60 bucks for the V6 Premium caps.

So you're telling me that the only difference between those center caps and the ones that come stock on the USA 18" are just stickers? Why are they so expensive? Can someone just buy the stickers and put them on their own caps?

I don't think they're stickers. I think they take the center piece out of a set of 17" winged caps and put them in the 18" V8 caps. That would explain why they're generally twice as expensive as the V6 18" caps. In other words, they're Frankensteining two sets of KDM Hyundai-Mobis genuine caps.

Exactly, you could save some money if you just bought the 17" caps and did the modification to your existing 18" caps. I seem to recall someone who did just that, on this forum.

Does anyone know the procedure for doing this modification? I don't want to mess up my wheel caps either..I bought the 17" wing caps so I should be in a position to do this mod, but dont want to start this blindly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you want the winged 4.6 caps. I can have your set winged by the factory. This will be a direct exchange for your set which must be in excellant condition (no marks or breakage). The set will cost $120 which is cheaper than the dealer or aftermarket in the US. Turn around time will be about two weeks, depending on mail service delivery speed. I'm in Korea stationed with the military and can provide you with orginal MOBIS parts. My address is a Army Post Office, You'll need to fill out a customs form at the Post office when mailing your set caps to me.

Another alternative is to use what appears to be a Korean-issue center cap that is entirely flat in design. These are sold routinely on eBay for a fraction of the cost of the "American " design. The part number is 52960 3M100. You can view this alternative on eBay.

That part number is for the KDM caps that come with the 18" 3.8 wheels, which are the same in both Korea and North America. While they will fit on the 4.6 18" wheels, since those wheels are exclusive to North America some may not like the results of using the 18" 3.8 caps. That's because the spokes appear to abruptly end with the 52960 3M100 cap, while both the Hyundai logo cap and the really expensive custom winged cap gracefully taper the wheel spoke design into the center.

I have an alternative to those expensive center caps. Buy modifying the HYUNDAI GENESIS COUPE WHEEL CAP EMBLEM SET. These are available on ebay from Seoulfulracing.com. They are pre-formed to mate up on the coupes wheel centers but by carefully rolling them with a household rolling pin they come out flat and match up directly with the 18" centers. I have done this and they look great. I plan to send some photos when i figure out how to upload them. For just $45 it’s the way to go and it took me about 30 mins to complete.
