Hi, just joined. Looks like quite a bit of traffic here which has been hard to find.
Full disclosure, I do not have a genesis, I have a Kia, but it has the 4.6L which I have had very little luck finding support in my high mileage maintenance endeavors.
My Borrego now has about 176k on it and is generally running well. We bought it with 133k. However, for at least a couple reasons I believe I have timing components that are in need of replacement. I'm thinking guide(s) and tensioners. I've done similar work on a Lincoln Aviator with a v8, but had a lot of help via youtube videos etc. With this engine, virtually nada.
Initially I'd like to know -- is it doable with the engine in the vehicle? Read some info that CHAIN replacement requires engine removal, but not necessary for guides/tensioners.
(I'm not going to pull the engine, I'll just drive it until it grenades).
I tried to buy a PDF manual, but it must have been a misprint. Talking about engine components and showing photos of brakes and other random items.
Any related info would be greatly appreciated.
