  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Alright so ahead of time I did some searching and some research and have this idea in the works. I tried a search to see if its been covered before and, so far, nothing. Can out be done? I used to own a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, (did a 3.5 swap in it), so Mitsubishi engines are nothing new for me. So far, however, I've only gotten a gander at the 4G63 and, unfortunately, that bad boy won't be a drop in. But I hear a lot about the 4B11 having the same block size... Now we all know the Evo is faster put of the box and, from what I've read, the internals are stronger then our theta engine as well so... Why not do a head, turbo, manifold, hell entire engine swap?? From what I could tell, the manifolds are reversed on the 63... Is this the same case for the 11? I'll gladly kick this off if someone can confirm. Thanks in advance!

I think a 4G63 Swap would be easier being the ECU is cracked and therefore you could get all of the electronics in the Genesis to function properly. Plus the 4B11 is still fairly new and they are still trying to make more power. But honestly it has really big shoes to fill, the but it is still in it's infancy as far as aftermarket support. The 4G63 has been around since 89 I think? So there are hundreds to thousands of way to make crazy power with it. Plus I believe the turbo spins a a different way as opposed to the Genesis. Because they did the SRT-4 approach when they built the Evo X. So I think to do that swap is possibly but you won't make the power for you would with a 4G63 swap because like I said before there are tons of ways to make tons of power with much less money. The 4G63 does face the correct way for the swap also, the 4B11 doesn't, because the cold side comes out on the drive side on the Evo and the turbo is facing the firewall ours factory is facing the raditor as well as the 4G63. But, honestly if you would do the 4b11 swap wow that would definitely one of a kind. I saw a guy in Saudi Arabia put a 2JZ twin turbo in the Genesis coupe, I think he is making like 485HP. So good luck on the swap if you are still going to do so. I know this reply is very late but I just got a Genesis in April of this year so. I am exploring other options for power-plants as well. Anyways sorry for novel hope this helps you somewhat make a decision.
