If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hey guys i decided to take a gamble and spent 1200 bucks on the 2009 sedan borla exhaust. got fed up with the stock exhaust sound it was too silent. and i just wanted to let you all know the borla exhaust off the 4.6L fits 5.0rspec with a little bit of modification to the exhaust tips. the hangars, x pipe, and mufflers lined up n bolted on perfectly. the 2009 sedan setup is exactly the same. the only problem was the exhaust tips. i had to take a sawzall and chop the chrome tips too get them to be flush behind the bumper due too the oem tips being built in to the bumper.

it sounds amazing when i punch it i will have pics and videos up really soon so stay posted.

if you have any questions feel free to ask

Borla is modifying the tips to fit the R Spec as we speak - and the catback will be out very soon.

I spoke with them a month ago to confirm

No need to modify the rear tips once it comes out of course

But I see you did some minor changes to make the ends fit - so all is well.

Personally - I like the quad look

Gonna see how much a shop will charge to do a custom fit - and I might go with the 4.6 setup too

Post video - along with some flyby footage :D

i couldnt wait i will try too post the videos up tonight and ill post the stock 4.6 borla exhaust piping and muffler comparison.

By the way the stock exhaust weighs a ton compared too the borla system.

Sounds great outside what about inside any clips with windows up the wife will kill me if its too loud inside. Her cts-v was pretty much a race car by the time we sold it she said i cant do that again but some tone would be nice

How bad is the drone inside the car at highway speed???

There are a lot of aftermarket exhaust systems for Vettes, but virtually all of them end up with an unpleasant drone inside the car at highway speed.

there is some drone on the highway but its not annoyingly loud. i will try to make a cabin video of op's car when i get the chance

Very nice, do you know if I can purchase the mufflers alone? I attempted the MSA 2nd cat delete and was extremely disappointed. Thanks

I have an RSPEC also.. why were you disappointed about the MSA cat delete? is there something wrong?

Is it noisy at idle?

I just installed a Borla Cat-back on my 4.6L, I should have done this years ago! Absolutely awesome sounding, much better than my previous setup noted above.

Could someone provide a link for good sounding mufflers on a 2015 5.0 Genesis? Ive tried clicking on links posted awhile ago and they must not be available anymore. I'm hoping to get a relatively quiet rumble without spending a grand or more. :sneaky:

I had the Magnaflow catback which is way milder than the Borla and it gave me a migraine. They're gone and I'm back to stock. Wish the Dynomax VTs were still available.
