6 CD Changer missing

My brother purchased his Genesis over the phone and they delivered it about 260 miles. He had done his homework and all the Hyundai Genesis books show a 6 CD changer in the tech package. Even the material in a local dealer showroom list (today) the 6 CD changer in the package. The local dealer did not have a tech package equipped Genesis but my brother was sure the one he purchased would have the changer -- GUESS WHAT - NO 6 CD CHANGER. The salesman from the dealership where he purchased the car simply says: "It is what it is"

Anyone have any ideas. Of course Hyundai has the normal disclaimer in their printed material - we all know the -- "subject to change - was correct at the time of printing"

I was wondering if most of you with the "tech" package have the CD changer???? and what should he do

It's an in-dash changer for the rspec. Not sure on the v6 package.

I think a forum member who bought a 2013 model confirmed there was not a 6 disc. Hopefully someone with a 2013 can confirm.

I have a 2013 R-Spec and there is no CD changer. I think that it was quietly dropped from the 2013 model.

It was actually a 6 disc DVD changer, and in the 2013's (all tech packages) it was deleted in favor of a single disc. However, there is the added jukebox feature that allows you to load music/video to the built in SSD (Solid State Drive). I think most of us feel cheated, but in all honesty with the USB and now the SSD, it shouldn't be a concern. Things are always changing.

For those of us who like the DVD-Audio the 6 Disc is a nice feature. Did they also remove the DVD Audio capability from the player?...if so that would really stink, it truly is like listening to music for the first time. I haven't found a way to successfully convert DVD-A to a digital format without loss, does anyone know a way of doing it?

DVD-A remains. Changer gone from 2014 Equus too.

my 2012 Rspec 5.0 came with a single cd player. the window sticker that came with the car said 6-cd changer. About 2 weeks after I got the car the salesman mailed me a replacement window sticker that said CD player and omitted the changer. It was probably a last minute idea to delete the changer, or the cars arrived at the port without them much to surprise of Hyundai USA heheh

I'll trade you. I'd rather have the SSD than the 6-disc changer. I don't listen to CDs.

My '12 R Spec has the 6 disc. AS has been noted, it was replaced in '13 with the SSD.

The '12 Tech package (only) came with a 6 CD changer, but no Bluetooth audio streaming. For '13 the Tech package added BT streaming and went to a single CD player. Most prefer that change for '13.
