  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I recently bought the car a month ago. The 6 disk changer was workin jus fine. Now all it says is mechanism error? What the hell does that mean?

could someone have forced a cd into when loading or pulled on a cd when ejecting it? I would try ejecting all cd's and the re-load them per the manual.

Won't eject or load. And now it won't turn over to the cd mode when I press the cd button

And no forcin or pullin..I was drivin and listening to a cd then tried to change it, it wouldn't load so it went to the next cd, that cd played n I tried to go back to the cd that it wouldn't read n it jus stopped workin

Well nvm it's workin now...bad cd, got jammed maybe?

How many miles do you have on the car/how old is it? That part is subject to a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty, and I've had 2 replaced. The second one was a week old, literally, in my 2010 V8 Tech when it read "mechanism error" and would not eject. They had to take it out, send it off for disassembly and recovery of my discs, and order a new one. After having replaced it a week before due to non-disc-related errors.

Was it a burned cd or retail? I've seen home-burned CDs cause problems before, especially with jamming. I had one jam my 97 Maxima, and the first time they replaced it under warranty, but told me that after that they wouldn't.

Yea it was burned and the car is past warranty 42k miles

Get a micro usb drive of 16 gigs and put all your music on it . Use 320k copy rate and its fantastic. You can then arrange your folders anyway you like. I have over 3000 songs on mine.

Did you ever resolve this? The same thing just happened to me with an authentic cd
