  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Coming up on the 60K mark and wanted to see what others have experienced for their service and what I should expect to pay. The only thing that really stands out is replacing the Automatic Transaxle Fluid

Here is the recommended 60,000 from the website:

Replace Engine Oil and Filter
Tire Rotation
Replace Air Cleaner Filter
Replace Automatic Transaxle Fluid
Replace Climate Control Air Filter (for evaporator and blower unit)
Replace Climate Control Air Filter / Air Conditioning Filter (for evaporator and blower unit)
Add Fuel Additive (recommended only if TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is not available. See owner's manual for details.)
Inspect Air Conditioning Refrigerant
Inspect Brake Fluid
Inspect Brake Hoses and Lines
Inspect Drive Belt(s)
Inspect Driveshafts and Boots
Inspect Exhaust Pipe and Muffler
Inspect Front Brake Disc/Pads, Calipers
Inspect Fuel Filter
Inspect Fuel Lines, Fuel Hoses, and Connections
Inspect Fuel Tank Air Filter
Inspect Parking Brake
Inspect Propeller Shaft
Inspect Rear Brake Disc/Pads
Inspect Steering Gear Box, Linkage & Boots/Lower Arm Ball Joint, Upper Arm Ball Joint
Inspect Suspension Mounting Bolts
Inspect Vacuum Hose
Inspect Valve Clearance
Inspect Vapor Hose and Fuel Filler Cap

I hope you have a big jar of Vaseline.

Where are you seeing Replace Automatic Transaxle Fluid at 60K miles? Is that for AWD?

AWD - Listed under severe driving conditions (because of snow?)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I would not pay attention to "Severe" service schedule unless you driving for Uber or constantly towing. A moderate amount of snow is not severe.

I change my oil on the "severe" schedule because of Texas heat.

The only thing expensive is if you change the trans oil. Are you sure you fall in the severe service category? Most people really don't so maybe you can compromise on that. Much of the list is "inspect". You can also save a bit by changing the cabin filter yourself. Dealers get a good markup on that 5 minute job. Many oil chage places and dealers still go by the 3000 mild oil change like they did in 1960. I go at lest double that if not to the 7500 mark.

Also notice all the "inspections" ----- What, and how, do they charge for fluff like this?

Sounds like padded charges to me.

Also a note on filters - You have a paper air filter for the engine (2 in my case) and a paper cabin air filter. I guess you're referring to the cabin air filter as a "climate control filter".

My dealer never charged for the "inspect" stuff. They do a many point inspection with every oil change and most of this stuff is visual and easy. They hope to make a few bucks on replacing a wiper blade or bulb or brake job.

The dealer I bought my 2015 from gives free oil changes for life as part of the incentive package. They change the oil on a 5000 mile interval.
I also get free state inspections every year and free manicures on Wednesdays while having service done!
