60,000 mile maintenance options/recommendations?

So I'm getting this service done, and they recommended a transmission fluid flush and a coolant flush. Neither is listed in the manual for this service interval, and the adviser admitted they're just general recommendations and not anything specific to my car having an issue.

I'd be interested in others thoughts and feedback whether either of these seem necessary, a decent option, or a waste of money.

If it's not in the manual, ignore the dealer.

If you like spending money for whatever sense of comfort a "flush" gives you, then go ahead and line the dealer's pockets.

I'd do the transmission fluid change as long as they replace the entire pan assembly (it's the filter). Otherwise a flush is utterly pointless.

I've heard bad things about transmission flushes - as there's a real possibility that something could be dislodged and plug up something critical... I'd stick with change & new filter. I'd only have them do that if you were having issues. Really no reason for coolant flush, if it's been changed at recommended intervals.

Typical of many dealers. Kudos to you for knowing it is BS. Purely profit driven.

Drain and refill the transmission fluid. Replacing the oil pan/filter will set you back around $200. I plan to replace mine at 120,000 miles. Radiator fluid is meant to be replaced at 10 years/120,000 miles (which ever comes first). there are test strips you can buy on Amazon to confirm that the fluid is ok. Pep Boys tested mine for free.

I plan to change the differential fluid at 60,000 miles, instead of at 75,000 miles. Read of a number of people whom waited and it the fluid smelt burnt.

Everything else the dealer is trying to up-sell you to (as EdP put it) is "knowing it is BS. Purely profit driven."
