A/C on Passenger Side, Heat Blowing on Drivers Side..................................

Anyone know how to replace this part?
Your gonna have to get under the dash to find the actuator servos. Never worked on a Genesis yet but have done several GM products. The actuator blend servos usually force you to work in contorted positions while on your back. You may also need to remove the glove box to gain access to ones on the passenger side. The Chevy and Buick I worked on had at least 4 of these actuators. I had to disconnect several actuators while working AC controls to find the bad ones. Two made clicking noises for the plastic gears seem to crap out when they get old.

Thanks. I found a diagram of where they are located. The bigger issue is how to remove the panels to get at it. I’m at the point where I’m likely going to trade it in so I may just live with it as summer is over.

My 2010 isn't switching to full defrost. Where can I find the actuator for that function? Blower motor moves a ton of air but windshield vents not opening fully. Is it near the blower motor?

2012 Genesis sedan 4.6. Im having same issue with A/C on, blows cold on passenger side and warm on driver side. Is there a guide how to access and replace the part. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Check your PMs.

I have read this thread 3 times today at work and am now commenting. This morning was a crisp 42F while driving north to work and realized cold air on drivers side with hot air on pax side. tried all different button inputs to remedy the situation as well as closing the drivers vents. I had a headache, dry eyes and super cold legs after the thermostat set at 78 on pax side using the "recirc" setting. Turned everything off on way home and had heat coming from pax vents and drivers vents closed. I ordered both actuators (one being a "blend") and the other something else according to two different websites. Got them through Rock Auto as I had a 5% discount coming. Watched a few videos ahead of time with one interesting one on a Kia which is similar to the Hyundai. The guy said one side is for the air flow direction and other side is for the temp flow direction.
I will be bringing homes some specialty tools from work to aid in the R&R of both units. If one failed the other is sure to be close behind. Will post once I have the part replaced.

Was your cold/hot air issue or not getting air in the Windshield Vents? I have the later and got the manual from a kind member here but I understand that it wont be easy as the pictures dont help me either.

I selected heat from floor and dash vents, what I got was heat from floor and dash vents on pax side and cold air from the driver's side. No matter what combination of switch selection I tried, still the same. The defroster was cold as well. The parts website said one unit is behind the glove box which is odd as I have never seen it while replacing the cabin air filter. The IPC shows it closer to the center console. The left unit is buried up under the dash right next to the "BCM" module I believe. The gas and brake pedals are both in the way so will be looking at removing some panels. The one guy said he did it in 30 minutes and am thinking of hiring him. The other guy stated he would probably sell his vehicle first which I am still laughing at.

Yea just to clarify that my issues albeit similar is that I am not getting "Any' air up on the defroster hot or cold as nothing is blowing but it sounds like its the same part behind the dash :(....

Let us know if you made any progress on this.

So I am getting air to the defroster, hot on right side and cold on the left. Same issue with vents and floor ducts, cold on left and hot on right. Blend actuator must be the issue. Side note: Back seat air is cold and hot depending at the console depending on switch position so that actuator valve is still working properly. Haven't bothered with checking air temp at the "B" pillars.
I haven't had a chance to get to the parts replacements as of yet with non-stop changing work schedules and granddaughter visits. Should be able to get to it in the next few days hopefully as our wx seems to be heading towards staying colder. Will update when I hopefully solve this issue.

Update: I removed the L/H side lower dash only to find out that I had ordered the incorrect l/H door actuator, there are 3 blend actuators on the L/H side of my 2014 Genesis sedan. The upper which I ordered which is called the "Floor Actuator" but what I needed was the middle actuator which is the blend actuator. I removed it and temporarily have to secured with a rubber band to the full open or heat mode and it is working great after 2 months of cold legs and feet. In addition, I also have heat at the dash vents as well as the driver's side "B" pillar" to the back seat. The new part was received at my work today so I will be replacing it soon. FYI: The lower left actuator is for the console. I will probably start a new post on this subject and will add pictures to hopefully help someone else if they encounter this issue.

I am interested Jep604 and thanks again for the help. My 2012 (wife's) is not blowing anything up and so it's at a point with the winter that it won't defrost the windshield and fogs up and is basically not driveable.....my dealership put me down for this in end of January and aren't sure what they will charge me :(.

I think I also have an exhaust leak in the engine as the car suddenly sounds really loud.

I would do the work, but I've hurt my back so let's see.

Sorry to hear about your back, I had back surgery 8 years ago. I was able to get my 58 year old upper body in there to remove the unit. I will do some research on the print diagrams to see which actuator is for the defrost. Exhaust noise could be anything, rusted pipes, blown muffler or stolen cat's.

Im "okay" but have nerve damage but gave up on trying to do anything with it as I can lift a car to fix issues but God forbid I moved my head too quick and I am down for a few weeks lol. How far are you from PA and I can bring the car by lol.

It sounds like i need the bled actuator as when I do the front nothing comes up nor the middle vents work; there is hot air coming only on the side vents when set to the windshield. Was the Dash removal straight forward or a lot?

Did not consider stolen CAT lol but doubt it's that as it's not THAT loud but I should check....most likely exhaust manifold issue as its right under the engine bay but overall, the car is working okay.

List of issues: Passenger side door wont lock/unlock, EM leak, flashing inside lights, can't switch radio stations with the dial unless i go from AM/FM or presets, front defrost not working....

Thanks in advance!

Ouch, I have the same nerve issues from cervical spine, C4-C5 discs almost gone with pain going out right shoulder. Oddly I still had defrost but no hot air from any of the left side vents. Dash removal was tedious but doable, the steel reinforced cage behind the dash was tough to work around with sharp edges that removed some skin layers on left thumb knuckle. Will add pictures on new post once I am done.
Not sure of your other issues, sounds like a module needs to be "flashed". I have heard of these issues with the 2011, 2012 vehicles and they were fixed for the 13 and 14 models.

BTW, anyone got this fixed at the Dealership and know what sort of a cost I should be looking at?

I have an appointment in late Jan as there isnt a nearby dealership so looking to know prior.
