  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I usually play music through Bluetooth (terrible, I know) and the Surround option noticeably increased the sound quality in my 2016 Ultimate, but enabling the 'Dolby Atmos' option on my phone (Galaxy S9) made an even more noticeable difference.

Lack of bass is the most common complaint I've seen on these forums, but the bass is so strong that my rear view mirror is constantly shaking. I'm honestly not sure if that's an indication of good bass or poor build quality, but it sounds great to me.

I'm not sure if this could benefit anyone who has a different phone, but I figured it was worth mentioning just to add another data point to the sound system debate.

i have the 2015 tech and dolby atmos enabed on the s9+ and haven't really noticed too much difference.... are u using the eq in atmos settings to boost bass?

The bass quality is good in my 2015 ultimate while not on the same level like my high-end Sony home audio system, but very good for a stock car audio system.

I believe that many bass quality complaints are from owners who are used to having large sub-woofers boxes in their cars that can felt hundreds of feet away from the car. For interior sound quality overall the stock ultimate system sound very good as is.

I will try the "Dolby Atmos" option if i have it on my phone and see if it improves the sound quality.

Note: I set the radio EQ to 0-Treble,0-Midrange, +7 Bass and the bass is strong while sounding clean. Just my preference.

I do not have the Dolby Atmos app on my LG G5 phone, but I used an highly rated Bass boost/EQ/3D sound app from the Google app store and it has improved the sound quality in my Genesis over the Bluetooth. I guess the provided phone sound processing software is not as good as 3rd party versions.

Good tip to use a sound app with 3D sound(surround sound) on the phones to gain better sound quality in the Genesis. My Genesis streaming music sound very clean and nearly studio quality with strong clean bass and vocals. It is almost like I upgraded my factory amplifier for a stronger unit. It was good sounding before, now my Ultimate system sounds great.:)

Would you be willing to share the name of the app you used? I have iPhone, but perhaps the app is there as well. Would love improved bass. Thanks!

I use the app called Bass Booster"literally the name". It is free and had decent reviews so I tried it and like how it sounds. The app is suppose to increase the phone volume as an perk, and it does play louder on my LG G5 phone.

I adjusted my car radio EQ settings to surround sound "on", treble +2, bass +5,mid-range 0, and adjusted the Bass Booster to bass booster 0%, 3D sound 100%, and the EQ set flat. I do not like over boosted bass, but I like that the app increases the sound volume and includes an EQ with the flat setting. I prefer to flatten my sound from the source and use the car radio's EQ to tweak the sound.

The sound seems more natural to me that way when I hear it.
