  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A little help for my new 2012

My 2012 tech displays the full compliment of data between the gauges. It did it both before my nav update and after. It only displays nav data when the route guidance is active.

I'm still trying to figure out why you need that info displayed on the screen between the tach and the speedo. ????

Ernie, I never said I needed that info. I simply said I just got this car, and while getting familiar with it, I learned some functions shown in the owners manual were not available in my vehicle. I was curious whether the car was operating normally. As a side note, my other vehicles did display similar info and I found it useful. Hope this helps you figure this out.

Because for teh NAv route guidance, it pops uo when a turn is coming and is a lot easier to see at a quick glance rather than looking over at the center dispaly.

Ach, so! So it duplicates the info in the Nav screen, as well as the voice announcement. In other words, you get three alerts to turn left at the next corner. If you add the passenger's nagging that would make four alerts to execute a turn. Also, if you add a cobbled up heads up display from a smartphone app you could get five alerts. ,-)

This is what i got back from Genesis:

This is the Genesis Customer Care Center contacting you to provide a status update regarding your inquiry pertaining to the little LCD that is located within the instrument cluster on your 2012 Genesis.

Based on the information made available to us at this time, your Genesis should be equipped to display AV and Navigation information on the little LCD that is located within the instrument cluster. The easiest way to verify this is to press the DISP button on your steering wheel and cycle through the options. The list of options is as follows:

- Distance to empty
- Average speed
- Elapsed time
- Average fuel consumption
- Instant fuel consumption
- ECO Driving ON/OFF (if equipped)
- AV information
- Turn by turn navigation

Just for fun I asked the service dept at a dealer to check into it. He said that he spoke to technical support and they told him just a few models have it. Since the manual says "if equipped", he told me mine apparently wasn't equipped. Brilliant!
