The dealer could not find anything wrong with either the amplifier or the speakers in my car. They actually did the same tests which caused my amplifier to cut off and my speakers to distort on another Genesis, and had the same results. So, I decided to bring my car into a local car stereo shop, and they wound up installing a 12" subwoofer in the trunk, along with an amp to power it. The thing is though, they had to remove the 8" subwoofer in the rear deck lid because the trunk is so well isolated that none of the bass was getting through with it installed. So now we are trying to tweak the output from the new subwoofer and the rest of my system. It's proving tricky because the sub is causing a lot of rear deck lid vibration. I may have to wind up putting some sound dampening material under the rear deck lid, except of course where the hole is where the 8" subwoofer used to be. I don't know if this is going to work out, but if it doesn't I'll have them put the 8" subwoofer back and I'll be out some cash for all the labor involved.
