  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GREAT NEWS!!!!

With regard to dealer stock units: The dealer update method will launch within two weeks after the consumer portal launch and dealers can choose to update their own stock.

HMA will not pay for those updates.

Please print the attachment and distribute it to ALL your Salespeople. I know many of them have customers wanting this upgrade.

This is from a district sales manager for the central region. I couldn't attach the file so I copied the pertinent text.

HYUNDAI RELEASES DO-IT-YOURSELF INSTALLATION FOR SMARTPHONE INTEGRATIONS FOR SEVERAL EXISTING MODELS

Hyundai is Offering Existing Owners the Best Smartphone Integrations for Free
Through a Software Update Available on MyHyundai.com

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 24, 2016 – Hyundai is adding smartphone integrations to several existing models today, via do-it-yourself installation. The software update compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto is now available at no cost through MyHyundai.com (www.myhyundai.com). The software will also be available at Hyundai dealerships nationwide for an installation fee, starting June 6.
Compatible Systems:

“Launching smartphone integrations on all of these existing models through MyHyundai will enhance the overall ownership experience,” said Barry Ratzlaff, executive director, digital business planning and connected operations, Hyundai Motor America. “Existing owners can now get the most out of their smartphones by simply loading new software into their car’s infotainment system. Just a few years ago, they would have had to buy a new car to get such a powerful upgrade.”
To complete the software upgrade, owners need their VIN number and a USB memory stick or the SD card from their Navigation system. Consumers can watch a How-To Video (insert link), which is available on the Hyundai USA YouTube channel, for download instructions on the software.
Hyundai will soon make an announcement about CarPlay and Android Auto upgrades for the following 2016 model-year vehicles equipped with Navigation: Sonata Hybrid, Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, Veloster and Azera.

Dealer Fees
If a customer is unable to complete the software download and upload procedure on their own, they can take their vehicle into their dealer. The dealer will charge the customer a fee for the labor involved to install the software.

Apple CarPlay
CarPlay is the smarter, safer and easier way to use an iPhone® in the car and gives users the features they want such as Phone, Messages, Music, and Maps, while allowing them to stay focused on the road.
CarPlay delivers an instantly recognizable experience to iPhone users that will help them be instantly familiar and comfortable inside their Hyundai. CarPlay support lets drivers make calls, get directions optimized for traffic conditions, listen to music and access messages. With CarPlay, Siri provides drivers an eyes-free experience by responding to requests through voice commands that are easily and directly accessed through the steering wheel’s voice button. Using a Lightning connector, CarPlay works with iPhone 5 and newer models running the iOS 7.1 or higher operating systems. The CarPlay roster of supported apps can be found at the following link: http://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/.

Android Auto
Similar to CarPlay, Android Auto helps keep drivers’ eyes and attention on the road by integrating the advanced driving-related functions of the user’s smartphone with the familiar centralized screen, physical controls and microphone of their car. Furthermore, the smartphone’s screen becomes “locked,” so drivers are not tempted to look down and interact with their phones directly while Android Auto is in use.
Owners will need the Android 5.0 “Lollipop” operating system or later, and the Android Auto companion app on their compatible phone to utilize Android Auto. A micro USB cable is required to connect the phone to the car’s USB port. The first time an owner plugs his or her phone into their parked compatible Hyundai, the phone will prompt the download of the Android Auto companion app from the Google Play. Users of Android Auto will instantly recognize familiar Android phone applications, such as Google Maps, Google Now, messaging, phone calling and Google Play Music. These applications can be controlled by voice, steering wheel controls and touchscreen. Android Auto will also offer many popular third-party audio apps, including iHeartRadio, Spotify, TuneIn, NPR, Stitcher, Slacker, Skype, TextMe and many more.

Display Audio
Hyundai’s Display Audio system features a high-resolution seven-inch color touch-screen display optimized specifically for smartphone integrations and Blue Link®. In addition, Display Audio incorporates Hyundai’s latest and most innovative in-vehicle technology by offering a simple, multi-use home screen, HD Radio® capability, mixed AM, FM and SiriusXM presets, along with Pandora-link integration.

Additional Display Audio Features:
• Integration with Apple’s Siri Eyes Free and CarPlay
o Functionality allows owners of compatible vehicles to use the voice command button on the steering wheel to ask Siri questions without taking their eyes off the road
o Spports making calls, selecting and playing music, composing and reading back text messages, using Maps and getting directions, reading notifications, finding calendar information, and adding reminders, among other functions
• Integration with Google’s voice actions and predictive Google Now functionality through Android Auto
o Functionality allows owners of compatible vehicles to find destinations in Google Maps, set appointment reminders, make and receive calls, respond to text messages with intuitive voice commands, and more
• Pandora integration
• SiriusXM Satellite Radio with enhanced features
o Pause, back and play for current station
o Automatic recording of top six presets
• SiriusXM Travel Link
o Sports scores and schedules, stock ticker, movie times, fuel prices and weather/alerts
• Advanced voice recognition

I've heard about AA and ACP. So whats all the rage about?

I'm not a "heavy" smartphone user. I don't stream music on my phone. No twitter. Very minimal FB. No other subscribed services on my phone. I basically use it for texts and internet use.

so it will be online starting tomorrow? Im on myhyundai currently and I see nothing that points to this

I know! My wife is more excited than me. I let her play with the AA in a sonata loaner and she loved it. We have a '15 tech so I'm downloading this ASAP.

I have a '15 Tech as well so I'll be getting it with the quickness. I've never played with AA or even seen it in person.

Curious if this will include a full Nav map update as was stated in the '15 Sonata FAQs. I just picked up a '15 Genesis 5.0 non-ultimate and was bummed that the map version was earlier than my local interstate. Was about to pull the trigger on a map upgrade but I'll hold out until I see the details on what is included here.. maybe perfect timing for me.

me as well, I I have a hellist long commute so I use waze daily, now that waze will be available on AA i'll be updating tomorrow

I've never used Waze but I know a bunch of people swear by it. If it integrates well with AA I'll give it a shot.

I'm mostly looking forward to AA because I use Spotify everytime I'm in my car for the most part.

I will be looking forward to reports from folks who do the upgrade!

There's no section on myhyundai.com for downloads and nothing about this that i can find on myhyundai.com or elsewhere. Is this real?

I'm questioning the validity of the post now also..Drove my car to work which I normally dont do so I could update while @ work..

We should see a downloads Tab inside the my Hyundai portal

other than this post I could find no other info that says we will get AA

Agreed. Did we just get trolled?

I don't see anything about this anywhere.

OP has been here for a while and has previously stated he is a Hyundai salesman in the Kansas City area. Possible this is dealer internal and not yet public.

Could be,all I know is what he claims is dated today and we have nothing

I know that we shouldn't be expecting to have to service put in our vehicles but the point that I want to make is that Hyundai said that they will make it available and then they make a deadline and if they never said it would be available and in just one day turned out to be available then that's different

Guess we'll see what happens on June 6
