  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here’s one that’s been driving me crazy… my 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 (stock) blows hot air while AC is on BUT only until the engine temp reaches normal operating temp on my gauge. After it’s gotten to this point, the AC immediately runs cold. It’s like if the ac was off then it just kicked on, from one instant to another.
I’ve check the AC compressor and it is engaging from the start, I’ve done a freon replacement and vacuumed the lines with no pressure drop for about 2 hours. Cooling fan start on cold engine when I turn AC on but all this still gets me hot air until the engine gets almost to the midpoint on my gauge. Then like I mentioned, the cold air comes in like if the ac was just turned on.
Anyone know anything about this glitch?

Sounds like a pressure issue. As the motor gets hot its also heating the lines under the hood. Check to make sure you have enough freon.

It was a pressure issue but not due to lack of Freon. As I stated, I had vacuumed the lines and recharged the system to spec. It turned out to be the pressure control valve located inside the compressor. I just went ahead and swapped the compressor and while I was at it also switched the pressure switch and now it blows icy cold from the start.
Thanks for the reply!
