I have a 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan, recently the AC stopped working. I started investigating what the issue was, I checked the Freon level and it was good. I found that the wire going to the compressor had been rubbing the serpentine belt. It was cut and shorted. I repaired the wire. The AC Compressor still did not come on. I checked all of the fuses to the AC control module. In addition, I check many other fuses. I decided that the AC Control Module must be bad. To be sure I took the car into the Local Genesis master mechanic. He checked it out, he checked out the compressor which ran fine when power was applied. He agreed that the problem was the AC Control Module. Since these are not being made right now because of the chip shortage I purchased a refurbished unit. When it was installed, the problem remained the same. The mechanic gave up and said he had no other ideas. At this point I have started to research the issue. There are several signals to and from the ECM, AC Select Switch, AC Request Switch, 2 AC Compressor Cut signals. I am looking for ideas, and a definition of the signals between the ECM and the AC Control module.
