  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever experienced their AC compressor pulley cracking? My AC wasn’t blowing cold and heard a clicking noise so I look under the hood and the pulley is cracked? $900 for an OEM AC compressor or do I go for $280 remanufactured?

If the $280 has a warranty I'd o that way, especially if I planned to get a new carin the next year or so.

Both have a year warranty but that’s the thing I plan to keep the car at least another 3 + years potentially

Labor cost aside, if it lasted a year and a day you would still get the same part cost in 3 years.

I assume you cannot just replace the pulley on the old one.

I found just the pulley but my concern is did something happen on the inside to cause it to crack and the only way to find out is to open it up. So I’d want the whole assembly as a fail safe since I can only have my car down for a day it’s my daily...
