  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So about a month or two ago I started up my 2010 Genesis and heard a loud clicking noise from the dash/DVD changer. I thought nothing of it at the time, but now that AZ summer is coming in full swing I noticed that the driver's side air vents are putting out lukewarm/cool air while all the other vents in the car are pumping out pristine, ice-cold air. I was wondering if this was a problem with the climate control mix actuator under the dash, and if it is, how expensive is it to fix?

Ideally, I'd like to do this myself so if anyone could point me to a tutorial on where the actuator is located and how to replace it that would be perfect.

This is a 2012 document, but it should get you going in the right direction:

This is literally perfect, thank you so much. Is there more documents like this that I can use for troubleshooting other systems? If so where can I find them

did you figure out what the issue was?
I'm not sure, I recharged the ac system ( which was at 17psi) and it's been working fine. I haven't tried using the dual system so I'll try that today and see

I was weak on the drivers side also. They added a pound of freon and pressure test it and couldn`t find any leaks. They also said they ``re-learned heat and cold actuators and temperature was now even on both sides.`` Works very good now.

Sounds like they just reset the actuators which isn't hard to do, might have worked fine with just the freon, I'll check the dual system today and see if it works, if not my actuator IS broke

hmm thanks guys. I will look into a shop to recharge it or maybe will try one of those recharge kits DIY
