  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
I have a 2013 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 with the top trim tech package

It’s a little over 83 k and I’ve been hearing a low buzzing noice I thought it was the ac do when I turned it off it stopped I was thinking it was a leaf or something but last night it completely stopped blowing air all together

After it sat over night it was working but the buzz was still there then i drove it turned it off now it’s doing the same thing just nothing

The fuse doesn’t seem to be blown so JD anyone else had this happen I was think maybe the blower motor went out and not the compressor bc when it does work hot and cold air will come out

Please advise thank you!

I recall that there have been reports of "actuators" going bad that need to be replaced. You might want to search this site and see if you can find previous threads on this subject using "actuator" as a search term.

However, I am not sure that is the problem if all the vents stop blowing air.

Also, check you cabin filter (inside the glove box). It needs to be replaced every year. If the cabin filter is too clogged it can cause temporary or permanent damage to the blower. To replace the filter, check out YouTube because it is not exactly straight forward.

Thank you I greatly appreciate that info I recall in my sonata the sound I heard was from leaves getting side the fan and I was able to go though the glove box so I will check that too!

If the AC works first thing in the morning after sitting overnight, the system and/or filter might be so clogged up that it causes ice crystals to form on the AC coils. Then the ice melts overnight. This happens a lot on home air conditioners. Filters need to be changed very frequently, and don't use any "enhanced" filters that trap more pollutants, but restrict air flow.

The ac is working now the fan or blower still sounds pretty loud on start up but then as it regulates it’s quieter but it has consistently been working so I guess it couldn’t breathe so it was shutting off
