Access for Replacing License Plate Bulb

Sorry if this has been posted before, if so, I could not find it. How do I get access to change the license plate bulb on a 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

License plate lights.

Well I started to take on the task of changing the license plate lights on my '15 Genny and I'm stuck! Literally 2 screws away from finally taking off the panel to allow the lights to be swapped out. But no access point to reach them. Had to remove a of panels just to get this far and now I'm...

You'll be there a while. And these pictures are waaay more useful than the Hyundai Service Manual.

You have to take the trunk back panel off, the garnish panel off, pop out the lights, pop in the lights, put the garnish panel back on, put the back panel back on.

Thank you...much appreciated! I do a lot of work myself, but since it is still under warranty, I may take it to the dealer.

The left side burnt out about a week ago. I was thinking I would be able to change it in just a few minutes. So much for that thought. Thanks again!

Almost had it, but could not get the back panel with the license plate on it to pop off. Got it to lift up part of the way but could not get it off. The blue fasteners let go easy, but it looked like there were also some yellow fasteners that I could not get to pop up.
Open to any idea/suggestions from anyone. Thanks.

I am asking the same question The dealer wants 92.00 for the bulb and 300.00 labor to replace the bulb.....Insane..

why not just leave it alone? The light on the license plate doesn't help you drive; it merely helps someone else know what your license plate number is. Unless it is required by some crazy law, let it die.

See other posts. It is illegal to operate without it in most states.

Different car, but my wife got a ticket for license plate bulb out a few years ago.
