  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Guys this could have been in a couple different sections so I apologize in advance.
I own a 2011 Genesis none of my electronics are working with out putting the key in to the slot (ignition). The key fobs, lights, radio, wipers, cigarette lighter all fail to work unless I place the key in the slot. When I place the key in the slot everything works as normal except the entertainment display will not come on.

I have checked all fuses and have replaced batteries in both key fobs I am at a lost. I would be grateful for any and all help !

Unless I am misunderstanding your problem, none of these will work unless you turn the ignition to acc.

For example :My interior lights will not work, when you open the door the interior lights are supposed to cut on. When you hold down the wiper button the wipers go up and stop allowing you to change the wiper blades. Neither of these are happening unless I place the key in the slot

Could be a few things. I'll presume you understand how keyless entry works and you know how to use your stuff :spoton:

Questions...
Can you lock/unlock the doors and does the car start without the key in the slot? (is the keyless entry module working)?

Can you put the car into ACC mode by hitting the start button once without your foot on the brake? (with key in slot and without)?

Have you checked/changed the keyfob battery? Tried your other keyfob?

Have you checked the fuses?

He did say he checked the fuses and changed batteries in both key fobs on the last line of the post.

1)can not lock/unlock the doors with the keyfob, keyless entry module not working car will not start unless key is in the slot

2) key in slot : foot off the brake only the clock powers on that's all
foot on the brake car starts as normal, info display and radio does not work
key out of slot : No ACC mode will not work with foot on or off the brake

3) replaced batteries in both keyfobs

4) check all fuses with tester not just visual

Noticed that the slot has a blue light that is blinking that I have not noticed before.

Presuming you have verified that the car has neither thrown any codes, nor had rats chew through your wiring in random places, my best guess is: the Body Control Module BCM is bad.

Shop manual says "use the scan tool to run diagnostics" which isn't much help. But the BCM does control a lot of electrical stuff on our cars...
