  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a sticky posted anywhere giving the titles of all the Acronyms?
And if not would it be possible to include one on this website.
With the number of mechanical and Electronics on today's cars it would be really helpful for us less informed owners who are not quite up to date.

Well could someone at least tell me what DH and BSD stands for?

DH is usually the designation of the Genesis series; from 2015 to 2016 they were DH models and from 2009 to 2014 they are BH models.
BSD is Blind Spot Detection.
The two I use the most which are not model or brand specific when I have a problem is WTF and when I figure out how to fix it I use POS. :rolf:

Yeh,remembered BSD but DH had me stumped lol.

Some acronyms can have multiple meanings, but probably not in the context of the Genesis forum.

For example, BSD was a common acronym for Blue Screen of Death on Microsoft Windows operating system.

But AFAIK, BSD's on Windows 10 are extremely rare these days (but that doesn't mean Windows cannot freeze or crash).

It took this old Grunt a long time to accept KIA as a car name...

KIA = Korean Imported Automobile 🤣

KIA = Korean Imported Automobile
Not exactly, since KIA's are manufactured in Korea and sold there. Many Kia's sold in the US are made in the US.

According to Kia Motors, the name "Kia" derives from the Sino-Korean characters ki (起, "to come out") and a (亞, which stands for (East) Asia), it is roughly translated as "to come out of the east."
