If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I have an Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector and would like to know if the Adaptive Cruise Control feature on the Genesis interferes with its operation...

it renders the detector useless in my Mercedes...although I think that may be the windshield as well....

Has anyone noticed any issues?

I am very keen on buying an R-Spec, but need the detector to be fully functional.

Thanks

I have the 8500 and have no issues.

People still buy/use radar detectors? I don't think I have used one since the 80's.

I have the Cobra XRS 9970G radar detector and neither one interfere with each other. Mine is mounted to the stalk for the rear-view mirror and sits directly under it, so it's not mounted to the windshield and doesn't bother my field of view.

I have found what interferes with electronics inside a vehicle the most is window tinting. Typically the darker the tint the higher metallic content it contains which can really cause problems for electrical devices in/on your car. While I doubt it would effect the radar guided cruise control since it's so far away from the windows any items inside will perform sub-par. I use Air Blue 80 window tinting and love it. While it doesn't afford you privacy it does a great job at keeping the car cool and has zero impact on the electronics in the vehicle....plus I like to see clearly out of my windows especially in the evening and this tint is wonderful for that, and it does cut down the glare from headlights some at night even with it being a very light tint. Here is how my tint looks:

I also had a body armor kit put on it to protect the front end against Florida's wonderful love bugs and from road debris...the entire front bumper, headlights/fog lights and both mirrors are fully protected and the product is practically invisible unless your looking for it....

That tint looks sharp and goes well with the exterior color....and the clear bra is practically invisible.

I think the issue with Mercedes is not the Distronic, but the laminate they apply on their windshields...that does interfere with radar detectors.

Escort Redline quite happy with cruise control, got it paired with ZR4 and never leave home without it.

Thanks :)....I try and keep my Genny looking good, it gets hard at times with the wonderful roads here in Florida but that body armor has been a true blessing. The tint really shows up in those pictures because of it being against a white backdrop, when your not near anything it looks even clearer.

The one disappointment to me I guess is the newer models keep having less color choices/combinations. I think that the blue is not as popular, but when other people see it they really do like how it looks and the paint always looks wet from keeping it well washed/waxed.
