  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, so I just bought I used 2012 genesis sedan. First of all, I really like it and am pleased with my purchase. Second of all, I truly apologize if there is another post addressing this, I searched but didn't see anything.

I have one issue: the forward sensor for the adaptive cruise control seems to have problems. I can initiate cruise control and it works fine for 5-10 minutes but then it shuts off and the acc light comes on. The manual says to clean of the sensor cover. I've done that, and the cruise control works fine for another 5-10 minutes then the cycle repeats.

Surely there is something else causing the forward sensor to deactivate than road dirt. A cruise control that I can't cruise with isn't really doing me much good.

It may be a malfunctioning radar sensor and it will need to be replaced. Not cheap. I have a friend that had one go bad on his 2012 R-Spec and as I recall it cost several hundred dollars.

Try a few thousand at the dealer, a bit less via third parties.
