  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I wanted more bass to my car and tried powering just the OEM subwoofer with a small external amp - I did this with my 2015 Genesis with great success. I bought the same Alpine 250W amp and tried to repeat this feat but the sound was inconsistent and lackluster. So I needed something else... I wanted to only use the small parcel shelf in the back of the trunk but at nine inches, I didn't have many options. I bought a bazooka sub which fits on the shelf and powered it with my Alpine amp. It sounds amazing! I've been playing reggae for no other reason but to hear the heavy bass. I have the wiring diagrams for anyone interested.

Did you have to disable the ANC (active noise cancellation) by disconnecting any microphones? If not, are you experiencing feedback because the microphone in the car picks up the additional bass/vibrations from the subwoofer, then tries to cancel that noise out?

Yes and yes.
Can you tell me how this was done?? Im having the same issue just had a sub put in.

What about the ASD (fake engine noise)?

Yes and yes.
Can you share with me how you handled disabling the r-anc? What mic and where? What about the asd (fake engine noise)?
