  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone added a rear view mirror with the homelink? I have the base 3.8 coupe and I want to add the homelink mirror. My dealer told me that the "computer" would not handle it. I say BS. Has anyone swapped out mirrors? I added homelink to my wife's car, but it was just the unit that I bought on Ebay. I would like to make this one a bit more professional. Any help would be appreciated.

Homelink is a built in system that you can program to open garage doors, gates, turn on lights, etc. They control up to 3 different devices.

The issue you are likely going to have is whether or not your car has the wiring for the homelink mirror for power. The other issue is whether or not the Hyundai mirror with the Homelink controls stores the signals in the mirror or if the signals are stored in the main computer memory. If the signals are stored in the mirror itself (likely I would think), it should just be a matter of mounting the mirror. If any oaf the above is not the case, you are probably out of luck in using the factory mirror. I think Hyundai should just make the Homelink mirror standard. Oh, one more issue, I am not sure if the standard non-homelink mirror has the compass built in. That could be another issue. Let us know what you find out.
