  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, I got a speeding ticket over the weekend. Yep, yep, my fault...guilty as charged...I've been too busy (lazy?) to hook up the Valentine1 in the new car (a situation I'm certain to remedy this week).

That's the injury part.

The insult part came when I took a closer look at the ticket. It was machine-generated (not hand-written), so apparently cop cars have upgraded their ticket-generating apparatus (glad to see our tax dollars are being put to good use...no more poor penmanship on traffic tickets ).

But it's obviously up to the cop to identify the make/model of the apphrehended vehicle. And what did this particular officer conclude I was driving? A "Chrysler Gen"!!

Admittedly, I have the KDM wings on the back and no obvious reference to Hyundai, but CHRYSLER? Oh, the inhumanity!

I think the CHRYSLER notation is actually part of your punishment.

Wow... I wish I could say I've only heard this once but I can't. When I got the car I sent a pic of it to a friend. The pic was of the front (I have the wings on it) and his reply was "eeewww you bought that?" and I was like wtf... it turns out he was thinking it was a Chrysler lol.

See? Another argument against wings on the hood!

Huh? What Ticket? You don't have a Chrysler! Judge! ;)

Haha there is a funny story behind that. I took the trunk lid wing to the dealer to get installed and when I got the car back they installed everything and left the wing I brought unused. I didn't complain because I like the way the wings look and intended to do the center caps but they saved me the trouble. I wasn't crazy about the wing on the hood but it grew on me... especially after getting the set for free lol.
