  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have about a hundred phone contacts in my iphone but certainly don't plan to call these people from my car. The only ones I would make outgoing calls to are my home, my family members or my office. Is there anyway to program just these few numbers into the bluetooth phone system in the car or do I have to download that whole mess of numbers? I really only need about 6 numbers in there.

Many phones give you the option to select a subset of contacts to send over BT. It is phone-dependent. For example, if you go into the Bluetooth settings on the iPhone and select the "Genesis" entry, it gives you the option to only sync Favorites or Recents. The iPhone is the most rudimentary. Other phones let you choose categories that you can create and manage.

THANKS will give it a try

On page 4-148 of your owner’s manual there is a description of the Bluetooth phone operation.

The menu tree on that page identifies available voice recognition Bluetooth® functions.

Under phonebook, there’s an explanation of the operations on how to add, change, or delete entries in the phone book directory.:)

thanks guys, I was able to upload only my favorites from the iphone so instead of 100 numbers most of which I'd never use, I only have my half dozen frequently called ones. appreciate the tips.

I'm not sure what sense it makes to limit your available phone contacts. Quite often while I'm driving I recall the need to make a doctors appointment, or any number of other contractor, store, or personal contacts. Then, there are the local police nonemergency contact numbers, as well as various town services numbers.

Calling these folks easily from the car saves me a lot of time and I don't have to remember, yet again, to do these things when I get home. I would seriously re-think limiting your phone contacts in the car. It's a big wide world out there. Why not use all the technology you can for your convenience?

Hmmm. Ok here's what I found on my first longer drive with my 2013 rspec and iPhone 4s. I paired the phone and noted that it was connected too. Some time later did the voice command to make a call and it said my iPhone was disconnected so the call didn't work. Then the phone connected and I was able to complete the call. I'm wondering why it disconnected itself. It's a jail broken iPhone. It did it a few times. I figure it should stay connected for the entire trip. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

I got a 2012 3.8....sometimes it does that too on mine and i have a jailbroken phoe aswell. A friend of mine has a different car and is not jail broken and it seems to do that sometimes aswell. Maybe is due to poor reception or something like that?? Somtimes it connects back by itself so it's quite random.
